Solar, exploiting log4j
Room created by @tryhackme and @JohnHammond. Thanks to the creator! Date: January 2022
As soon as I got notified that this room was available on TryHackMe, its completion instantly reach the very top of my to-do-list. As a security analyst I need to be up-to-date as soon as possible when a new vulnerability is disclosed. This is even more true when a critical vulnerability, such as Log4Shell, has been identified and threats the cyberspace in significant manner. I was even more excited to complete this room as I have noticed that John Hammond is its main author. In my opinion, he is one of the best communicator in the infosec community. He is always limpid, clear and he also has the capacity to synthetize highly technical information in a very efficient and concise way. I also appreciate his work because he has a strong professional ethic and works a lot on empowering and educating the cybersecurity community. Shortly, I am a big fan!
Following this goopy introduction, let's now dive in the main subject.
Finally, this room has been relevant for me to completed not only because I got introduced to the Log4Shell attack, but also because I got back to some basics techniques that I had forgot after a long break of doing Ethical Hacking.
